Hello, I’m Katie and in April I am going to be volunteering with eXXpedition to research plastic pollution in the South Pacific Ocean.

If you’re like me, I’m sure you have become increasingly aware of the issue of plastic pollution on our planet, and the dangers of microplastics to all of us.

The research I will be taking part in aims to help us better understand how plastics make their way into communities on land, then out into the ocean. We will use this data to pinpoint realistic and achievable actions that can be taken to improve the issue of plastic pollution.

I am asking for support in funding my place on the research vessel and for the flights to get me there. I appreciate any support you can give, and thank you for reading.
