Hello Friends - my name is Teri Moseler. I'm the youngest sister of Kathy Brown, the benefactor for this GoFundMe. Kathy is an incredibly strong and independent woman, so this request was difficult for her to agree to, but we reminded her that it takes an incredibly strong person to ask for and accept help when you need it. So I write on with her blessing.

My big sis has found herself in a second battle with cancer. Kathy first fought "like a girl" with breast cancer 13 years ago at the age of 50 and kicked cancer to the curb. That battle took a toll on her physically, which ultimately hit her in the financial department as a landscaper and private business owner. But she never gave up! After several years with her landscaping business, the time had come for her to take a couple of steps back from the manual-labor aspect of the job she loves. Recently, Kathy began a new job at Hahn's Ace Hardware in Mequon in the lawn and garden department. This job affords her the chance to continue the work she loves, but with less manual labor involved.

Only a few weeks after starting at Hahn's, an unexpected medical episode hit her while she was at work. One ambulance ride and two hospital stays later, Kathy has now begun Round 2 in her cancer battle - this time with colon cancer. And though Kathy is super-woman, healing from major abdominal surgery and beginning chemo does not come without challenges. Hahn's has been amazingly supportive, allowing her the time she needed to heal from surgery and changing her duties to accommodate her current condition. But sadly, due to her new employment status, she does not yet have the benefits of short-term or long-term disability to help compensate for the income she's missing.

This is where you come in... With Kathy facing 6 months of chemotherapy, we're asking for financial assistance to help bridge the gap between her limited part-time status and her monthly living expenses.
