In some ways it feels the song is already out there with the many versions recorded and sent to Kate from song circles, voice journeys, and sweet memories of people dancing and singing the song in large groups and house concerts around the coast.

It feels like home when we sing it together. Bringing endless smiles + joy + tears + unfurling + healing + warming the hearts of all who are blessed to be touched by it.

Kate’s music cultivates a sense of belonging. A place of community, safety, openness and exploration. Her ever-inclusive lyrics have a way of bringing people together and in that space a lot of healing takes place.

There isn’t much Kate loves more than her community, nature, and bringing the music to the people!

Kate is an active and impactful member of the Gold Coast music community. Her deeply loved first full length album recorded under the name "Kate Leopold" entitled "Rebirth Dreaming" was released in 2020, after 9 years performing with much loved, multiple award winning band “Leopold’s Treat”.

Kate’s heart’s passion lies in creating musical journeys to uplift and inspire, and to remind us that we rise together in hope for a better world. An experienced musician and stage performer, Kate has been playing to soulful audiences since 2007, most recently in one of the Gold Coast’s favourite bands, Leopold’s treat.

Kate’s music has been described as a new sound in Australian folk music. Uniting dynamic rhythms, soul-evoking vocals and bright, acoustic melodies, audiences are taken on a captivating journey through the dark depths and the soaring heights of the human emotional experience. Her sound is reflective and emotive, where every part of a listener’s experience is welcome and the human potential for good is endless.

As an environmental scientist and passionate custodian of Mother Earth, Kate weaves potent messages throughout her lyrics, uniting us in a cause that is becoming more pressing by the day. Kate has been inspired by artists like Xavier Rudd, Rising Appalachia and Trevor Hall.

A message from Kate. “I hope these songs create a space for you to feel inspired, to find a soft landing place, and to know that you are amazing, exactly as you are. My intention is to share acoustic folk songs that heal our hearts and illuminate our way to deep connection – within ourselves, with others and with the Earth.”
