Katakata is a Black owned community hub based in Lambeth, dedicated to fostering an inclusive, accessible and collective society. Over the next three years, Katakata’s strategy aims to strengthen its role as a hub for the Deaf and disabled community in Lambeth and continue to advocate for the role employers and organisations need to take to increase accessibility across London.
The Katakata Festival returns to Brixton this September offering an inclusive accessible day of live music, creative workshops and vibrant community engagement. The festival will shine a spotlight on local vendors. emerging artists, and Disabled and Neurodivergent Creatives and Practitioners.
An essential part of Katakata’s approach is community collaboration. It is together that we can tackle the systemic problems faced by the Disabled community and advocate for the creation of safe creative accessible spaces.
This years festival will take place on 13th September and to help us ensure we fund all of our incredible artists, workshop facilitators, BSL interpreters and other vital people contributing to the accessibility and inclusivity of the festival we need your help!
