As many of you know family is something that is very important to me, and our family is very special. My brother and sister in law have a very special story to say the least. Both Ray & Kassie served in the United States Army where they met and got married back in 2012. They both completed two tours overseas combined. Kassie and Ray retired from the Army back in 2013. Kassie & Ray have bounced around over the years trying to find a place to officially call home, which ultimately landed them in Missouri. Fast forward to present day, Kassie works for an amazing veterinarian office as a Vet Teach, while Ray is an insulator/pipe coverer, and also just enrolled in school to become an X-ray technician. Just this past year they welcomed a sweet baby girl into the world that they’ve waited for 5+ years to hold! As well as building their dream home! Now building a home can be stressful within itself especially in the world we live in today with inflation, labor costs, etc., but adding in a flood wasn’t what Kassie & Ray had in mind. Unfortunately Ray and Kassie were affected by the terrible flooding that has occurred in the Midwest. Kassie & Ray are just shy of 2 weeks away from closing on their dream home that they have built when damaging flood waters destroyed all their belongs they had in their storage unit, their storage unit had nearly 4 foot of standing water in it. They lost brand new TVs, bedroom furniture, a adjustable bed frame, mattresses, couches, tables, etc. Kassie and Ray spend days trying to salvage what was left of their belongings but unfortunately many things had too much water damage and had to be thrown away. Since this is the absolute last thing Ray & Kassie saw coming they only had minimal insurance on the unit. Now that they are just days away from moving into their beautifully built dream home with their precious daughter with no furniture.
