Kassian’s Super Hero Fund
Donation protected
Hello Friends,
We are back with another fundraiser - Kassian's Life benefited incredibly from the access and use of the Trexo Robotic Trainer. He had access to in a clinical trial for 3 months in late 2022.
The Trexo trainer helps to hold the leg muscles in proper form while performing motion to help train the brain and strengthen these muscles. This, in short, reminds me of the science used to guide physiotherapists when working with someone post-stroke to regain skills and the ability to walk.
These pieces of equipment are game changers but they are essentially the same price as a new SUV.
My goal is to help this lovely family be able to buy one outright and cover some of the mandatory upkeep. This is in the Ball Park of $40,000. The robot alone is $22,322 plus a $1,450 special treadmill to use this robot on because winter in Canada makes it really hard to go for a walk with a 100 lb robot that is not designed to be all-terrain, plus + $2,500 for the upgrade for tech giving them access to data and tools to ensure proper form is being developed, plus more in fees and GST) AND to help cover the cost of the monthly subscription which is $499 for the 2 years or more.
Why are we re-using the same GoFundMe Page? There are A LOT of fake accounts out there so we are using the same one so we can maintain the same links. Please report any duplicates. (Last time someone tried stealing the photo and info about Kassian to create a fake fundraiser. Which is mortifying... So anywho we will be using this one going forward.)

Update from Alexa: Through our GoFundMe and direct donations we were able to hit our goal!
"Thank you everyone for donating to Kassians upcoming surgery! We truly appreciate it and are overwhelmed by the love and support we have recieved from everyone.
We are so thankful for all of you.
We plan to use the money to allow Alex to take the time off we need for him to be home with out having to worry about our finances, as well as our food for the time we are up in Calgary.
What ever is left over will be either saved for future surgeries, equipment or needs of Kassian.
Again thank you so much. "

Kassian is a three-year-old Super Hero living with Cerebral Palsy. He is a huge fan of hockey, and his hobbies include playing with his dinosaurs and going on bike rides. His favourite hockey players are Dillon Dube and Jacob Markstrom of the Calgary flames.
In June 2021, Kassian is headed in for what we hope to be a miracle surgery. Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy is the scientific term. The surgeon will go into the spinal cord and separate the motor nerves from the sensory nerves, and cut the sensory nerves that are sending the spastic signals to his lower extremities. The surgery is aiming to reduce the tightness within Kassian’s hips and lower extremities with the hope that it will allow him to one day walk.
The surgery is covered under Alberta Health and will be performed at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. With the family living two hours away there is a ton of expenses the family will incurr to support Kassian in this Journey.
We ask that if you can donate please do, if you cannot please send your prayers and positive thoughts to be with Kassian on this journey.
Thanks in advance.
