After losing their mother, these 3 special needs adults are now in danger of losing their home.
Gertrude Cifaldi dedicated her entire life to caring for children, a majority of them with special needs. In fact, she fostered over 100 children, and ended up adopting 5. Three of which have down syndrome and require life long care. She also had 3 of her own children. Her and her husband Matt Cifaldi were pillars in the Charlotte County community. Matt even started a Boy Scouts troop for the local special needs boys. Selfless, generous, devoted, compassionate, and loving, are just some of the words I think of that still don’t come close to describing them. In the same spirit that they lived their lives, their life’s work should be honored and continued by allowing Karryn, Chuck, and Lisa to stay in the place that’s been their home for the last 30 years. They have a routine there. Things are just the way they need to be. Our family is heartbroken to think of them having to go to a group home or trying to figure out another option. If we can rally together to pay off the remainder of the reverse mortgage, the bank won’t take it and they can keep their home. Our family can then forever treasure the decades of love and happy memories that resides in gram’s home, and preserve the legacy of this amazing family.
