Karissa was riding a motorcycle with her Uncle on July 7th, 2018 when he hit gravel and lost control of his bike.

Sadly, he passed away at the scene as he cried for Karissa to please open her eyes so he would know she was alright.

Karissa was already in a coma.

She was airlifted to UC where she is currently fighting for her life in the ICU. 

This family lost another child, Amber Rooks, just three years ago, and now they've lost a husband, father, uncle and rock--Jeff. 

They steadfastly hold onto the hope that Karissa will survive. 

Karissa is a beautiful soul with a future bright enough to light the world. 

Kind, caring, intelligent and sweet, she is a gift.
