Kayro Becker is a sweet little Brazilian boy who was born with Tay-Sachs disease. This incurable disease progressively destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Kayro was almost 3 yrs old when he began having seizures and this disease began taking over his little body and quickly took away his motor functions. His parents, Otávio and Leila and big sister, Sasha, are completely dedicated to making Kayro as comfortable as possible. He requires constant care, many trips to medical facilities for his various therapies, and needs equipment to help keep his lungs from filling with fluid. He also has various medications to help control his seizures, but even with medication he can have up 30 seizures a day. Kayro has emergency runs to the hospital to be treated for pneumonia. All this is very wearing and costly. Both parents, besides giving Kayro quality care, work hard to make ends meet. The money they bring in simply cannot cover all the costs ( more than half of their monthly paycheck is needed for caring for Kayro). The government in Brasil offers minimal help and their insurance covers only the therapies. They would be grateful for some help financially and for prayers for strength as they face their many challenges. We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. God bless each one!
