Hi, My name is Karen, and my husband Jon and I are needing some financial help. I have been unemployed for over a year, and with an injury that needed surgery, and then living with and looking after my mom for a couple months, job searching was kinda on hold.

Now that my mom has passed away, my sister and I (co-executors) are responsible for emptying out her house and selling it. With a house she had been living in since 1975, there is 50 years of accumulated "stuff" and it's taking a lot of time to go through everything.

At the end of December, Jon and I will be moving in to mom's house, to make it easier for me to be clearing out and going through things (and have us both in the same place again). My sister comes up from Lethbridge area when she can, but it's a long trip, especially on winter roads, so a lot of the day-to-day maintenance, care, and "purging" of the house falls to me.

Dealing with mom's estate, and clearing out the house (plus finding and organizing all her important papers both personal and church- related) is pretty much a full-time job! Add in the fact that I'm constantly going back and forth between Edmonton and St. Albert (by bus, since I don't drive), to help Jon with organizing and packing up the apartment), it means that there is not really any time for me to even THINK about looking for work right now.

Despite everything else we are going through, the bills don't stop, and we could definitely use a helping hand, financially.

Any funds raised will be put towards our bills (or maybe occasionally some pizza delivery after a long day of packing and moving boxes), until I am successful in finding work and am able to help support us. Thank you so much in advance for any support you may be able to give. We appreciate you.
