Karen Griffin Scholarship Fund

Tax deductible
On January 29, 2016, I lost my Mom, Karen after a long illness.  Through the generosity of some of her friends and colleagues, we were able to start the Karen Griffin Scholarship Fund, benefitting Octoraro Lodge of the Chester County Council, Boy Scouts of America.

This year, I am donating my birthday to this incredible cause.  I'm not one to celebrate my birthday or ask for anything.  This year, and in the future, I will be donating my birthday to this scholarship fund.

The scholarship fund is geared towards providing financial assistance to Scouts that do not have the financial means to take part in some of the great things that I was privileged to benefit from as a young man.  As many of you know, I remain an active volunteer in the Scouting program, as I believe in paying back Scouting for helping to mold me into the man I am today.Thr

Mom was a longtime Scouter and mother of 2 Eagle Scout sons.  A Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow (Scouting's National Honor Society) and a Silver Beaver recipient (Scouting's Highest Honor for service to youth at the local level), I cannot think of a better way to memorialize Mom and continue to pay it forward.
