Kappa Sigma is the largest college social fraternity in the world with more than 200,000 living members, including over 20,000 undergraduates and 320 chapters and colonies located throughout the United States and Canada. The Tau-Lambda colony of Kappa Sigma was founded on November 2nd, 2019 in Providence, Rhode Island. Our brotherhood proudly stands on the Four Pillars of Kappa Sigma, fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and service.

In 2019 our organization attended and hosted various community events, including a Red Cup Clean-up hosted by The 02908 Club, volunteer service at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, and more. Our brothers even attended the International DECA Conference in Chicago, IL.

In 2020 we attended Kappa Sigma Tau-Eta's (University of Rhode Island) Polar Plunge, raised money and awareness for the Black Lives Matter campaign, as well as donated to the Minority Veterans of America alongside the other chapters in the Boston District. Our colony ended the academic year recognized by Kappa Sigma nationals at the 2020 Leadership Conference as the 10th largest colony across the nation.

In 2021 our brotherhood is stronger than ever. The Tau-Lambda colony currently comprises 35 active undergraduate brothers, raising over $3,000 for various charity organizations, with our latest philanthropy event raising over $600 for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Our brothers have also donated over 1,200 hours to community service despite challenges from the COVID-19 Pandemic. Our brothers continue to display academic excellence, boasting a 3.0 collective GPA. This year we will achieve more than ever before.

What is a charter?
A charter is documentation that an individual chapter is recognized and operates according to their national organization. As an organization, we currently operate as a colony. Chartering would establish our organization as an official chapter and give our brothers access to better resources and support in order to give back to our local community in bigger ways. Our current goal is $3,000. This money will go towards fees associated with chartering. Any additional money raised will be donated to various organizations in our community, as well as the Military Heroes Campaign.

From AT&T Stadium to Nashville, TN, the benefits of becoming a Brother of Kappa Sigma know no boundaries. After 3 academic years of hard work our colony is ready to charter. Already our colony is the largest fraternal organization in Providence. As we look to expand our organization's impact on our community we ask you to share this fundraiser and help us reach our goal.
