In the country of Gambia, the small village of Kansala, faces dire needs and urgent support. Many individuals struggle to survive due to the lack of food, clean water, and necessary resources. Village members testify that there are days in which families do not eat more than once a day --- and at times, nothing at all .
Further exacerbating these circumstances is the absence of a proper market where residents can buy food. For families in Kansala, this is very detrimental and worsens the situation. Another major concern that villagers face is the lack of clean water. In Kansala, there is a well in which multiple families use for drinking and cleaning, but the water source has become contaminated, causing individuals to become sick and risk infections. In addition, individuals in Kansala Village face financial hardships and have limited opportunity to work and provide for their families
Through this initiative, we are fundraising to help the people of Kansala Village in several ways:
1) Establish a community garden:
- Why? to combat food insecurity and provide free access to fruits and vegetables.
2) Ensure the cleanliness of water sources:
- Why? In order to provide safe, clean drinking water to individuals in Kansala.
3) Financial assistance:
- How? Your donations will also directly contribute to individual families by means of meal packages and essential supplies. In addition, families will also receive to help care for themselves and their families while also maintaining independency.
