I’m the second youngest of a family of 11 children and I have 4 grown children of my own. It’s hard to understand how so many couples struggle to get pregnant. It breaks my heart to know that one of those couples, is my son and daughter-in-law.
The physical and emotional stress alone is unfathomable and the financial costs are astronomical.
Midori, has endured many medical challenges for over 5 years - removal of fibroid Laparotomy myomectomy, scarred tissue, blocked left fallopian tube, 3 failed attempts with fertility drugs, an Ectopic pregnancy which led to the removal of her right fallopian tube. She’s had Hysteroscopy for Endometrial Polyps, four times over a period of 2 years. She is currently facing aMyometrial cyst that may or may not harm a possible pregnancy.
Kalani is the rock of his family. He inherited the role of hierarchy, after his father died in 2004. When his grandmother became diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he became her guardian. When his Aunty became homeless, he helped to find a temporary shelter and before she passed, she designated him to be her guardian. He is an active duty National Guard and has volunteered to deploy to several disasters.
They have always taken on the responsibility to care for others and have put the needs of others, before their own. These unselfish acts of love and loyalty to family, has often delayed their plans to have a baby of their own. They are now in their late thirties and the window to get pregnant, is getting smaller.
Although we have always supported them through all these challenges, the financial costs way above and beyond our means. They have never asked for any monetary help from their family, but we’d like to help lighten their financial burden by starting this Go Fund Me page for them. Hopefully, this will alleviate some of the stress which plays a big role in whether the body will accept or reject the IVF.
Whatever contribution/donation, you feel you can afford, will be deeply appreciated and will help more than you can imagine. Most of all, we ask for your prayers for Kalani and Midori, to be blessed with a healthy baby of their own.
