I've reached my initial goal! Up to $245 more (a total of $2500) will go toward additional batteries/accessories for the structure, and any donations after that will be earmarked for future maintenance and/or other community fridge projects. Thank you!
In collaboration with local professionals and my school's Design Technology department, I've created a schematic, made a digital model (check it out, it's pretty cool), and put together a full materials and expenses list.
This fundraiser is the last step before I can buy the materials, double-check my measurements, and build the fridge. Please donate if you're able. Some expenses have already been covered thanks to a grant from the Hawaii Youth Sustainability Challenge and a solar panel generously provided by Island Pacific Energy, but I'm relying on crowdfunding for the rest. Your generous support will help get this structure on the street and helping people as soon as possible.
• My $2000 goal is based directly on the prices of the items I need, and every dollar will go straight toward making those purchases.
• If I exceed my goal, an additional $500 will help to purchase an additional battery and other accessories to improve the function of the fridge.
• Any money raised beyond that will be earmarked for future maintenance to the structure and/or to fund other community fridge projects in Hawaii in the future.
I've been pouring time and energy into this project, and your support would mean so much to me. If you have any questions, please feel free to use the "Contact" button below and I'll get in touch. Thank you so much for your support.
