Kahurangi Edmonds & Family

My name is Kristy and i’ve set up this go fund me for a beautiful little boy Kahurangi Pera Edmonds.

He has been a fighter from day one as his mum & dad went through the world of IVF just to have him, being their one and only embryo that survived it went on to create this gorgeous little boy.

Kahurangi and his mum & dad Left Oz Aug 3rd and landed in NZ Aug 4th. They stayed in Auckland overnight before heading up to the Northland to celebrate Kahurangi’s brothers 21st and to meet his sister (she lives there) for the first time.

They stayed up north for 4 days however the night before they left Kahurangi seemed to be a bit off and had a temp which his mum thought may of been his tooth as his first little tooth popped through.

After 4 hrs he settled but then at 9am seemed to be hard to wake, they decided to hit the road to travel back to Auckland. After arriving in Auckland only to be more concerned with their baby that they went to ER where they spent a few hours before being discharged and told to bring him back if they had more concerns and that it was maybe just viral infection.

They decided to not go to Wellington as he really wasn’t well but held tight for another night only to rush him back in morning as he was struggling to breathe. Taken into ER straight away on first look of him and then within an hour was admitted as X-ray showed pneumonia. They hang out in 1 hospital for 2 days and watched as things got worse after each test he had.

After a urine & blood sample was completed an ambulance was ordered and they were transferred with lights and sirens to the childrens hospital in Auckland. He spent a few hours on the ward before he showed signs of complete renal failure and was rushed down to ICU. The next morning they were told they would have to take him into theatre to put in a breathing tube and kidney dialysis as the bacteria that caused the pneumonia had gone into his blood which then attacked his kidneys.

At the moment it is really just a waiting game as more tests have showed some more bugs which we have no idea where they are all coming from.

He has always from birth been a very happy and healthy little boy.

This families days are spent travelling to and from hospital at the moment being in ICU they can’t sleep & stay by their sons side, he is still on breathing machines and in an induced coma.

We are hoping to raise some funds to assist this family to reduce some of the stress they are under and help with any financial support they require.
