Kaden Massengill's Fight & Family Support

My name is Kimberly Massengill-Satterwhite and I am the Sister of Kedrick & Shunte Massengill.

My brother an Airforce Veteran and his wife have been on a journey for over 10 years to become parents. They have went through Multiple IUI'S & IVF treatments, suffered MULTIPLE miscarriages and losses. Last year they were expecting a son, my Nephew Aden. He was born at 19 weeks and didn't survive. You can only imagine the Heartbreak from that. Total Devastation.

On Christmas of this past year I Got a call from them sharing the wonderful news of them being pregnant with twins. I cannot tell you how Excited and Happy we all were. I really felt like God was giving them Double for their Pain. Everything was going according to Plan until Shunte got admitted on bedrest for the duration of the pregnancy at 14 weeks to hold the babies as she has an incompetent cervix and medical bedrest was required. Unfortunately Girl Baby A- Hayden and Boy Baby B- Kaden were delivered at The Women's Hospital of Texas early on Feb 11th and came into this world fighting for their lives and transferred to the NICU level 3 unit of the hospital. Hayden was delivered Vaginally after Shunte sustained a ruptured cervix, she was then rushed to surgery and Kaden was taken by Cesarean. The effect on her body has been Brutal. Unfortunately on Feb 16th Hayden got her wings on my Mom's Birthday. Total Heartbreak all over again.

On top of grieving their daughter Hayden and Kaden still fighting for his life you can only imagine the toll this has had on them. My brother has been unable to work, Shunte is getting Half of her check from her job on Medical leave and the bills are coming in. The Medical bills are overwhelming on top of the Grief and just day to day bills and living expenses. Kedrick has become a full time caregiver unable to work. They have zero family here around them in Houston. I am requesting if you feel led to please help offer them some Relief in this department.

Monies collected will be used for monthly bills, Medical bills not covered by insurance and just overall recovery & a Surrogate to bring Kaden a Sister again. The Expenses are REAL and they Deserve to be Parents. So many Babies are born to unfit parents and this is certainly not the case for them. Personally, Never having to go through this I cannot even imagine their pain. Please keep them and my nephew in your prayers. #KadenStrong is a movement and will Inspire the masses as so many Preemies do Survive. Kaden is a Micro Preemie and weighs 1 lb and 3 ounces as of now and is the smallest baby on the unit. We are Trusting God to bring him home but in the meantime he has a long road ahead of him and our little fighter is doing just that-FIGHTING.
