Support KACCL's 2020 Charities

Donation protected
KACCL (Kirklees and Calderdale Charity Lunch) was created in 2016, in order to help raise valuable funds for local charities. Every year since we've organised a fabulous Christmas Lunch in aid of charity.

In 2019, we raised a staggering £32,446.00 for our beneficiaries, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and the Orangebox Choir at Square Chapel.

In 2020, we were due to do the same and raise money for The Nick Smith Foundation, Lawrence Batley Theatre, Global Diversity & Calderdale SmartMove.

Understandably, we can't hold our lunch this year but we are hoping for bigger and better in 2021 and will host our next event on Thursday 2 December 2021 at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield.

In the meantime, we're asking for your support for the four charities we had hoped to be supporting this year. They are all facing difficult times given Covid-19 and we want to help them if we can.

If you feel able to support them, please donate - it might be the amount you would have spent on a table, or the amount you would have spent on the day.

However much, or however little, we will pass every penny to the charities split equally four ways.

Thank you.

More about our 2020 charities:

Nick Smith Foundation

A charity formed in memory of father-of-two Nick Smith, from Halifax, who died aged 38 from Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Supporting MND research, bereaved children & rugby league across Calderdale and Kirklees.

Lawrence Batley Theatre

Lawrence Batley Theatre is an arts venue in the heart of Huddersfield staging a range of drama, dance, comedy and family work. At the centre of their charitable organisation is a commitment to young people. Through their Young Company they provide weekly drama sessions as well as the opportunity to meet and work with professional artists.

Global Diversity

Global Diversity exists as a central hub in Huddersfield Town Centre to support the most disadvantaged and vulnerable younger members of society and help steer them away from gang culture, crime and life on the streets. The charities aims are to promote the development of the individuals capabilities, skills and good citizenship through personal development, advancing education and apprenticeships.

Calderdale SmartMove

SmartMove is a charity supporting the homeless, vulnerable individuals and families across Calderdale. Whether it’s preventing someone sleeping rough, fleeing domestic abuse or families with children who can’t afford their next rent payment, they source safe and secure tenancies for their clients before offering intensive support over a 12 month period to ensure tenancies are maintained long term.
