Kabwe Student Fundraising for Health, Education, and Water

Donation protected
Through this fundraiser, we aim to make a lasting impact on the communities in Kabwe, focusing on key areas of health, education, and sustainable living. Our goal is to provide reliable food sources to those in need, such as through the development of raised bed gardens that will offer nutritious options for local families. We are also committed to addressing menstrual poverty among young girls by providing essential hygiene resources, such as reusable pads and menstrual cups, ensuring that students can attend school without interruption. Additionally, we plan to support the reconstruction of a local school called Mines Primary School that was damaged by last year's cyclone, ensuring a safe and reliable environment for students to continue their education. Your contribution will help us create a healthier environment for children attending schools in the affected area.

So far, our efforts in Kabwe have made a significant impact, and we are proud of the progress we've made in improving the lives of those affected by lead contamination. We've planted a safe, sustainable garden with raised beds that provide nourishing food for the students, featuring plants like lemon grass, tithonia, lantana, and cabbage. These gardens not only offer nutrition but also contribute to a healthier, more self-sufficient environment.

In our ongoing commitment to improving the school's environment, we have painted the walls of the school to help reduce the dust in the air—a common concern in areas affected by heavy metals. This simple but effective solution reduces the risk of inhaling particles that can contribute to health issues. We’ve also provided the school with essential appliances, such as a fridge and stove, to ensure students have access to fresh meals and proper facilities for cooking and storing food.

Our focus on women's health has been a key part of our work. We’ve distributed menstrual cups and reusable pads to the younger students and mothers in the community, helping to combat menstrual poverty and ensure that girls can attend school without disruption. Additionally, we were able to provide a wheelchair for one of the students, enabling them to attend school with more independence.

These initiatives are just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue our work in Kabwe. As we focus on supporting the school students in the contaminated areas of Kabwe, we remain committed to creating a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future. Your continued support makes all of this possible, and we look forward to what we can achieve together.
