K9-SAR... Angels in Wellies

Hi...my name is Ester and my fur baby is called Bowie. We've just been though the worst 72 hours
Id like to raise money to help with the cost of equipment for these amazing people to continue there work. They are all volunteers, they do this for the love of the dogs and getting our fur babies home.
I used the power of fb to ask for help. Little did I know I'd be contacted by K9-SAR with in minutes of posting and they would be my baby boys heros.
Karen from K9-SAR took charge, below are details of all the effects above and beyond Karen and her team went to to get Bowie home.....
Bowie went missing on Tuesday 5th December when he took off into the fields from the garden after scaling the fence at lunchtime - he was last seen heading into woodland further down and no sightings at all since then.
We followed up every possible lead, no matter how small that chance might be that it could be him-
We were door knocking, searching for cctv, postering and the community rallied round to help too - thank you for all your calls and messages with information that was followed up immediately-
Tuesday and Wednesday brought -3 conditions and it was freezing as we searched the woodlands and surrounding areas, but knew it would be much worse for him if he was trapped somewhere - so we kept going - we placed live cameras out to watch for him, and searched on the ground with thermal scopes as many parts of the woodland were just too dense for the drones.
Tonight, the weather was atrocious with wind and rain and we thought about leaving the fields quiet and go back tomorrow instead, but our gut told us he was in there, trapped, and thank god we went back because he was there, and was utterly and completely stuck!
Unbelievably he was stuck, wedged completely around 6ft up a tree!! Stewart Smith saw him on the thermal scope because the ground was so uneven and with many incline’s the tree was lower than us at this point -
A drone was never going to see him, it was good old ground searching that meant we found him -
He was taken to the vets immediately and given the all clear ♥️
Thank you Ester Collins for listening to us, following our advice and believing in us -
Thank you Rob Green for joining us tonight, you know those woods like the back of your hand and your help and advice was invaluable
What can I say.... You are the most amazing group! You've not only brought my baby boy home, you've supported me and my daughters massively. Him being home is down to you guys. The way from the very first text you where so positive, professional and knowledgeable.... You gave me hope.
You all tramped through field after field, knocked on doors, got drenched... Not once did you give up or let me give up hope.
It's completely down to you all that we now get to sleep soundly and have the best Christmas ever.
Your angels in wellies.
I owe you all my heart and I'm forever in your debt as you've made my girls smile again.
Please help me show these wonderful people how amazingly fabulous and selfless they are and help them to continue there work.
Love and prayers xx
