Hi my name is Laura and I am doing this fundraiser to assist Dan Hitchcock and his family. Dan is a Local 7 Union pipefitter, in Albany, NY. who in the blink of an eye, his whole world changed he lost his wife Kayla. Kayla was only 29 yrs. old and neither of them had any life issues and did not have any life insurance. So the cost to be able to celebrate her life is an additional cost that we weren’t ready for. She was a stay at home mother with 4 young children ages 2,5,8 and 9, for whom she did everything for including transportation to and from school in another district. She was this family’s rock. They had been in the process of a complete overhaul of the house, the house was demolished to the studs in some parts and they were only living in a small area. Dan works 40-60 hours a week in addition to doing the house overhaul. Unfortunately with the way the weather has been he had a power surge and lost the appliances as well. The company that he works for was able to get him an upright freezer thankfully but that’s it. He now needs to find childcare as well transportation for the children.
