In Loving Memory of Aelaf Yfru
Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we announce to you all the passing of our beloved brother, son, and activist Aelaf Tafesse Yifru on April 17th, 2023. March 8th, 1995, was the blessed day Aelaf was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He and his brother Yafet are the only children of his mother, Abeba Abrha. Aelaf attended primary and middle school in Addis Ababa and then came to America, were he furthered his education by graduating from high school and college.
As a family, as friends, and as a community, we express our sadness, acknowledge our loss, and acknowledge the great importance of Aelafs life. Aelaf was always on the front lines fighting injustice in Tigray. He worked heavily on Tigray advocacy, pushing the world to know the atrocities there. He contributed in so many ways to the betterment of the Tigray Community of Ohio. He was coined the cameraman of our community in any event you see him with his camera harnessed around his neck, ready to take photos. The same photos we will look at and think of our kind-hearted brother. Aelaf was a god-fearing and kind human who deserves to be laid to Rest In Peace.
During this sad time, we would like to ask for donations to help cover the expenses of Aelafs funeral. We want to give Aelaf the memorial he deserves, honor his memory, and say our last goodbyes. Aelaf Yifru is survived by: his mother, Abeba Abrha, and brother Yafet Yifru.
Romans 14:8
If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Thank you so much in advance for your support during this devastating time.
