On August 7th, Aarin was admitted into the ICU after weeks of headaches, vision changes, and excruciating pain.
After CT scans, an MRI, and vials of bloodwork drawn, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST). CVST is a rare form of stroke that causes blood clots to form in the sinus veins of her brain.
Aarin has since been released to home, but her recovery is going to be long and slow. She is on blood thinners for an undetermined amount of time.
She will be out of work for at least 6 weeks and will slowly upgrade her work time as she can handle it. Aarin was already struggling with keeping up at work as a UX/UI designer in those weeks before the hospital because of the stress and lack of sleep.
She can do limited activities and needs intermittent breaks as she still gets headaches, dizzy spells, vision issues, etc.
Aarin is already on the path to making big lifestyle changes to lessen stress and help her brain heal. She will be required to have follow-up scans and appointments with her primary care doctor, neurologist, and hematologist.
With all this in mind, Aarin could really use our help.
She is a single mother and artist who has worked so hard and diligently to get to where she is and support her daughter, Harper.
Please, if you could help financially in any way, as the next year feels very scary with all the unknown.
