Help my family evacuate from Gaza
Donation protected
My name is Mohammed Jamil Mohammed Ali. I am Palestinian and live in the northern Gaza Strip. I studied law and worked as a lawyer. I have a small family consisting of my wife and a child named Jamil, who was 35 days old when the war on Gaza started. From his earliest days, he has lived amidst the sounds of bombing, destruction, and war.
I live with my extended family, which includes my mother, father, three brothers (Wissam, Haitham, and Fadi), and three sisters (Noor, Malak, and Rimas) in an apartment within our large family house located in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza Strip. Our beautiful home was destroyed, along with our memories and cherished moments of childhood.
Due to an oversupply of lawyers in our country, it is difficult for a graduate to open a law office and start working. Therefore, I decided to start my own business: a store selling gifts, flowers, children's toys, stationery, and school supplies. I worked hard and invested all my energy and resources, totaling over $25,000, to establish this business. I began making profits, but unfortunately, this did not last long. The war broke out only a month and a half after I opened the business, and it was destroyed. I lost my only source of income and have been unemployed since the first day of this war.
Throughout the war, we fled death every day, moving to more than 20 different places, including shelters, hospitals, clinics, schools, and institutions to stay alive. This was amid a lack of electricity, water, food, and all means of life in the city and all the places we went to. We left our homes in the middle of the night, fleeing death that knocked on every door in the city, without taking anything we needed except for a little bit of bedding, food, or clothing.
We went through a difficult period in northern Gaza, where we were subjected to an intentional starvation campaign. The siege and hunger intensified, with the price of a kilogram of flour exceeding $35. We ate animal food during that period, and the hunger persisted for many months until some aid arrived. However, the hunger continues to this day. My child fell ill, and I had to admit him to the hospital for three days due to a severe cold amid the lack of medical care and medicine.
My family of 15 members and I fled repeatedly throughout the harsh war, displacing dozens of times from place to place and city to city under intense bombing and in the most difficult circumstances. Now, we are without shelter or a source of income, unable to find our daily food or meet the basic needs of my child, such as milk, food, diapers, or clothing.
My brother, the dentist, was supposed to get married less than 10 days after the start of this devastating destruction, and he has not been able to get married to this day. His clinic was bombed and the apartment he had prepared for him to get married in was destroyed.
My brother, the farmer who used to rent and farm land, lost more than $50,000 due to its destruction at the beginning of the war.
With all this loss, bereavement, siege and starvation, and after Gaza became unfit for safe living, we decided to leave Gaza and emigrate to a safer and more stable country, leaving everything behind us. However, the problem we face is that we cannot pay the travel costs, as the cost for each person exceeds 4,000 US dollars, and our number is 15 individuals. 15*4,000=60,000 US dollars
But we need some money to complete the required amount to get out of Gaza, so our campaign does not exceed $20,000. We hope that you will help us achieve the goal.
Therefore, I decided to start this donation campaign to receive your generous support, enabling me and my family to leave Gaza and escape from all the tragedies and horrors we have faced.
