Asking for money is a hard thing, especially when it is to send two millennials across the world. We would understand if you balked at this proposal, however we ask that you hear us out until the end.
Brittany and I love people, we love being able to see people with joy in their eyes and hearts, even in the midst of the hardest of turmoil. While this trip is primarily focused on coming alongside and encouraging established churches in the area, the Lord has put another thing on our heart. Many of you are aware of the beautiful soap that Brittany has been making and selling. God has blessed her with an immense talent and creativity to produce really amazing soap. It has been something that has really blessed us as a family too. We have been able to make it through some hard times because we were able to make something and others admired it. While some of the products that Brittany makes are fairly elaborate, the actual soap making process is fairly simple and the ingredients are common. We know it is a need because we have interacted with many women from Africa desperately seeking out recipes and knowledge on the soap making process. There are countless people out there who want a way to provide honestly for their families. It is something that we would like to offer for free to the people that we come in contact with over in Kenya. Our heart is that we can offer people a skill and share life with them and the hope that can be found in Jesus.
We have been praying and thinking about this trip for a while now, however, we initially decided against it because we did not think it possible. The cost will be about $6000, and we just don't have that laying around. Until this morning, we were decided that we would not go. Until this morning.. This morning we were at church listening to the sermon and could not shake a feeling. A feeling that we shouldn't give up just yet, so here we are. We want to see if this is still a possibility and if a miracle would happen.
So our ask is this, come alongside us and help provide a way for us to interact with these people. Help us in ministering to the people of Kenya.
