Bobby's Eagle Scout Project

My name is Bobby Gardner and I’ve been involved in scouting since I was 6 years old. I started my Scouting trail as a Tiger scout in 2014 and progressed my way up to the highest rank in Cub Scouts. I then joined the Boy Scouts of America, where I have had the opportunity to travel across the country, obtain extensive leadership training and opportunities, visit new places, meet many new people, and spend countless nights under the stars. I am now a Life Scout in Troop 155, and I am thrilled to say that I am on my way to earning the highest rank in Scouting, Eagle Scout. As part of the requirements for this achievement, I am planning and executing a community service project that will hone my leadership and project management skills and holds great importance for both myself and the community.
My project aims to put up an excess of ceramic legacy tiles in the hallways of Joseph J. Catena Elementary School. A Legacy tile is a 6x6 ceramic tile painted by each fifth grader who will be moving up to middle school. There are currently many years’ worth of tiles cluttering the art room as they were unable to be mounted during COVID-19 restrictions. The placing of these tiles will aid the school by properly honoring the school’s Alumni. To accomplish this task, I need to raise funds to buy about 500 plain white tiles, adhesive, and the track to install the tiles on the wall. I firmly believe that the successful completion of this project will not only contribute to the betterment of the school community but will also instill a sense of pride and unity among its members. In addition to seeking material donations from local home improvement businesses, I am asking family, friends, and the community for help in subsidizing this project. Please consider donating and sharing to support my project goals and earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Any excess funds raised will be donated to the Joseph J. Catena Elementary Art Department.
