Regenerative Gardening for Survivors

Donation protected
Who will benefit from a Donation?

- Survivors of Trauma (often single moms, elders, city renters, people with health challenges, cases of hardship, etc) who request our regenerative gardening services, but cannot afford to pay the full value for our work.

- Real People in our local community with lawn and garden needs. Priority will be placed on POCs and black women, as we stand with #BlackLivesMatter and #BlackLandMatters. We do not exclude anyone suffering from trauma, regardless of race, gender, socio-economic background, etc.

- Earth and Creation - because every patch of land we tend, means one less patch being sprayed with chemicals and blasted with fossil fuels. More birds, bees, butterflies, wildlife habitats and clean water systems have a chance to thrive, when you support LadyBug EarthCare.

How will the Funds be used?

The funds will be used to pay the crew a fair wage for labor and to cover the cost of supplies. We do our best to up-cycle materials and use things we find for free. When we remove plants somewhere, we give them to a client with a lower plant budget. We are thrifty and resourceful!

But when land is not well managed, there are often repercussions, from fines to ecological disasters. We want to help our clients prevent problems, save money, and care for their patch of earth.

How will the Funds be distributed?

Ideally we would like to split the cost of services in 3 ways.

- 1/3 covered by the client (to encourage a sense of responsibility and connection)
- 1/3 covered by LadyBug EarthCare (generally around a 33% discount)
- 1/3 covered by campaign donations (thanks to you!)

However, in reality, Funds will be shared with those in need on a case-by-case basis. If someone can pay more than 1/3 of the costs, we will reserve funds for those who need to pay less.

How much money is helpful to give?

The average Spring CleanUp costs around $360-750.
Maintenance plans cost approx. $180-540 per month, depending on the size of the property.
Consultations and Permaculture Design value around $150-500.
Additional projects like mulching, soil rebuilding and lawn-to-garden conversion can cost thousands.

Give as much as you are able/willing. Even a little goes a long way!

How soon do we need the Funds?

We intend to run this campaign year-round for ongoing maintenance needs, regenerative projects, anything that comes up for someone in financial need who wants to be ecologically responsible.

What this Support means to LadyBug EarthCare...

Many of our original supporters have fallen into financial despair. Some of our friends and community members have suffered great traumas. As we continue to build our business collective and take on more responsibility and costs, we need help if we are going to continue serving some of these clients.

Your donation means we can continue working in some of our favorite gardens, for some of our most beloved clients, and for new clients who could not afford our rates otherwise.

LadyBug EarthCare is a woman-owned-and-operated business offering organic gardening, regenerative landscaping and ecological design services in Central Pennsylvania.

Our Mission is based on the 3 Ethics of Permaculture:
Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share.

As a collective of earthcare workers, ecological designers, social change agents and independent contractors, we aim to:

- Regenerate Landscapes by transforming lawns and gardens into wildlife habitats, pollinator support systems and beautiful foodscapes.

- Empower Community by providing accessible landscaping services, ecological awareness and the opportunity for purposeful income.

- Share Resources by upcycling materials, utilizing multiple forms of capital, promoting our mentors and developing a replicable business model.
