Keegan & Koltan McDaniel Foundation
Donation protected
After our devistating loss on October 8th, 2016, we decided to raise money to purchase CuddleCots for Midwestern hospitals in need.
Dealing with a stillbirth or the death of a baby is an incredibly difficult period for parents and families. Sometimes, spending just one more day with your baby makes all the difference in the coping process. However, because of the natural biological processes that occur post-mortem, parents are not allowed to have this time if a hospital does not own a CuddleCot. By providing this invaluable piece of equipment to hospitals, our goal is to aid parents and families in the bereavement process.
Donations raised by the Keegan & Koltan McDaniel Foundation, will be used to purchase CuddleCots from Flexmort Ltd for hospitals in the Midwest States (starting with our home state of Ohio). The Covercool Cold Cot (or CuddleCot) is used to allow a family time to grieve. The system was developed with the input of maternity departments, national Charity SANDS and bereaved parents. Released in September 2011, it is now in use across many maternity departments around the world, and can help preserve the appearance, condition and dignity of a baby. The benefits of using the Flexmort Cold Cot System is widely accepted by bereavement practitioners across the globe and is in widespread use across UK maternity departments and children's hospices.
Future donations to the Keegan & Koltan McDaniel Foundation will be used to support the Foundation's expansion goals. These include funding for stillbirth research and education projects, and providing much needed funds to supply support services to bereaved parents and families.
Thank you so much for your support!
