Hi my name is Lucy, we never imagined we would be in a position where we needed to ask for help, but after a very difficult year we are struggling to keep our family functioning day to day.

Last year we moved house and took on a bigger mortgage, not long after my husband unexpectedly lost his job. Thankfully he has since found a new role, but it came with a pay cut and shift work. Around the same time, I had our baby, which reduced my income by around £1,000 a month during maternity leave. One of our kids was also hospitalised which meant more financial loss.

We have always worked hard, paid our bills, and tried to manage independently, but several major life changes all happened at once and we are now trying to recover financially while raising three young children.

Recently our family car broke down beyond economical repair. We sold it, but replacing it has become impossible with current costs and our savings already gone. We now only have one car, which my husband needs for work due to shift patterns and limited public transport where we live.

This means that several days each week I am effectively stranded at home with our children, struggling to get to nursery, food shops, appointments, and everyday activities. We are doing everything we can to avoid taking on expensive high-interest finance or falling further into debt, but we urgently need a practical family car to get through this difficult period.

Any support, no matter how small, would help us towards purchasing a safe and reliable 7+ seater vehicle for our family and relieve an enormous amount of pressure during an incredibly challenging season of life.
