Hi, my name is Kim, and I am raising money for my nephews.

 

My sister Sarah was diagnosed with Sacral Chrodoma, in 2012. Sacral Chordoma is a rare tumor that represents the most common malignancy of the sacral region. Over the last 9 years she’s endured two spinal surgeries leaving half her spine bionic, and countless others to remove soft tissue tumors throughout her entire body. She’s tried immunotherapy, and many different type of chemo, but sadly the cancer continues to spread to her limbs, liver, lungs, spine, pelvis and most recently, her heart.

 

Unfortunately, this April, she was given 3-6months left to live, and there is nothing else the doctors can do for her. She is going to leave behind her two boys, Parker and Phenixx. They are the best thing that has ever happened to her and our family. Both boys were seven and three years old when Sarah found out she had cancer. She’s raised both boys as a single parent while also fighting for her life. Parker is now 16 years old and loves golfing, football, and weight lifting. Phenixx is 12 years old and loves basketball, and says he stretches every morning and he pray’s every night to be 6’6.

 

I always knew that my sister was a great mother, but it never hit so hard until the moment I had to break the news to them separately, in what was the saddest moment in their lives they looked at her as they wept, wiped her tears from her face and each said they’d look out for the other. Told her she was the best mom, and one heck of a fighter. It’s devastating to know that my sister will be gone longer than she will be there in their lives . She's only 37 years old. It’s not fair that she’ll miss out on so much of their life.

 

They are the reason I am writing this letter and asking everyone I know and don’t know for help. As much as my sister is worried about her boys, extra support would help ease her fear, knowing they will be taken care of. Any donation small or large will be a huge help in making sure my family can meet many upcoming and unknown expenses. Some of these are the funeral,  rental expenses, car payments, counseling, living expenses for the boys, college funds, and vet bills, so that they can hopefully keep their dog. We are asking for $50,000, so that my nephews can continue to receive living and emotional support through their future.  I will be setting up a trust for both boys. 

 

Our family is devastated by this news. Sarah has fought for her life and her boys for so long. The best we can do as a family is to support each other now, and prepare for the future as best we can. We thank you for any size donation you're willing to contribute.
