Dear friends, family and supporters,

Starting in June of 2023 my Daughter Marissa was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She has been through radiation and chemo. She has been in and out of Stonybrook Hospital at least 8x or more within the past 2 years. She has had 5 surgeries along with multiple different procedures. During this whole process her job let her go for taking to long to come back and she ended up losing her health insurance. But Quickly we arranged insurance from the marketplace and that's when everything changed. Due to the change of insurance Stonybrook doctors now wanted referrals from a regular MD or she couldn't be treated. 2 years in and because of an insurance change we had to switch to NY Cancer and Blood for treatment, Marissa has terminal stage 3 cervical cancer and requires a lot of supplies. She also has a urostomy bag and colon ostomy bag due to the cancer spreading. She has gone into kidney failure 2x. She also has nephrostomy tubes in each kidney which makes it difficult to sleep. Unfortunately due to this her insurance is giving us a hard time about her medical supplies. The insurance will not cover. We have been paying out of pocket for everything, Now we are in our second round of chemo. After 4 rounds were told she needed another surgery because a large mass had form in her abdomen wall. Surgeon that was to perform surgery told us this would be an unnecessary procedure because it will not help, It would just leave her in more pain. It was time to just make her comfortable with the time she has left, Devastating news no parent ever wants to hear. Here we are today still fighting and trying to stay strong. Bills mounting and supplies are low. Any help no matter how small is a blessing. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this difficult time
