My name is George and I am a student at Winterbourne Academy. I am participating in an expedition to Kenya in 2025.

This will be a 4 week expedition and will include community development work living and working alongside local people, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include additional elements including learning to scuba dive.

The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:

- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Kenya

- Raise the living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Kenya

- Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.

This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as experiencing new cultures, establishing teamwork and leadership skills, developing communication skills and improving my confidence as a person.

I am really looking forward to working with the locals and helping out in the community with projects that will make a difference to them, and of course seeing all of the amazing wildlife on land and in the ocean.
