Lifting up Westchester is a summer camp that provides a recreational and academically enriching camp experience for children who are homeless or living in poverty who might otherwise spend their summers with no activities. The camp also prevents these children from losing any academic ground over the summer through a variety of reading and math activities that are actually fun. The camp does not have a large enough budget to fund programs and activities that are typical in other camps. We are looking to raise enough money to cover a time slot at one of the city or county pools for our campers. They don't have access to a pool for the summer so we would love to give them this experience and provide them with some swimming lessons if our counselors are able to help us out with this. We are also looking for other experiences that we can provide, if anyone would be able to donate their time or knows of any educational opportunities that wouldn't cost a lot.
