Jaelynn's biological parents abandoned her at an early age. She is 12 years old now and has been cared for by her Step Father, Josh, for all 12 years of her life. He has been there since the day she was born and Mali, his girlfriend, has acted as her mother since she was 5 years old.  Earlier last week, her biological father, a convicted criminal (at which we didn't know about) got her under the guise of a sleepover to hang out with her cousins and to attend a family birthday party to see other family members as well as meeting the rest of his family that would be there. He has then refused to let her return home. She is scared and has called multiple family members distraught. Her father has since refused her access to a phone or any kind of communication and he will not respond to any of her family when they ask about her or her well being. Unfortunately, Washington State laws allow for custodial rights to Jaelynns biological father even though he's been absent all this time and has never sought her out. We are attempting to raise $10,000 dollars for legal representation in order to bring Jaelynn home to her brothers and sisters and to the only parents she's really ever known. Family and friends are now attempting to establish a Gofundme account to raise money in hopes of hiring a legal team.  #BringJaelynnHome.  We are overwhelmed with the response so far and eternally grateful.
