As some of you may know Alice hasn’t been very well since November 2024 and having to take lots of time off work due to her poor health and the effect of being Type 1 diabetic!

In April 2025 Alice was admitted back into hospital and diagnosed with the devastating news she has stage 5 chronic kidney failure, she was told she would need a kidney and pancreas transplant.

In June Alice’s kidney function dropped drastically to 11% and she has to start dialysis straight away!

With this she has to attend the hospital 3 to 5 days a week for treatment and it’s taken over her life. She will be on dialysis until they find a donor match which will then enable her to be transplanted.

Not once has she moaned about her treatment and has always seen the positive side of this, keeping herself up beat in a life changing situation. We are hoping by the time she is 40 (2.5 years away) she will be transplanted and have new lease of life and be “normal” again!

Due to this rubbish illness she is unable to work at the moment because the treatment and condition takes it out of her and rules her life with having to have dialysis. She is also on a restricted diet due to the body can’t cope with certain foods or liquids making her low in energy.

I’ve decided to throw my self into a few challenges to help fundraise for Alice, as I can’t donate an organ this is my way of showing my support to her. At the moment Alice’s life is taken over with dialysis, treatment and appointments which means she can’t enjoy life as she should at 37!

Yes I am a runner and have always been into fitness for many year! But my comfort zone is about 6 miles max! So I’ve decided to sign up for a 24hr backyard running challenge, plus a few marathons! One of them actually being this December (2025)!

If you can spare any pennies to help me raise as much as possible for Alice and I’d be very grateful. They deserve it more than anyone.
