Paving Routes to Justice in Scotland
Sanaya* left Pakistan because she wanted to study in the UK and pursue her career. Once she arrived in Scotland, she met a classmate and friend. Step by step, they fell in love, but soon after, he became violent and tried to hurt her.
She decided to ask for help, and that’s when she contacted JustRight Scotland: “My entire life changed when I met my lawyer. They helped me with my application for asylum and referred me to other organisations for support. Their help didn’t stop there. After I was granted refugee status, they assisted me with my studies and referred me to a counsellor for mental health support.”
Sanaya is now back at university and looking for a part-time job.
That’s how we make a difference. We use the law to defend and extend people’s rights, working with communities to change broken systems as well as individual lives.
