<div>Sanaya* left Pakistan because she wanted to study in the UK and pursue her career. Once she arrived in Scotland, she met a classmate and friend. Step by step, they fell in love, but soon after, he became violent and tried to hurt her.

<div>She decided to ask for help, and that’s when she contacted JustRight Scotland: “My entire life changed when I met my lawyer. They helped me with my application for asylum and referred me to other organisations for support. Their help didn’t stop there. After I was granted refugee status, they assisted me with my studies and referred me to a counsellor for mental health support.”

<div>That’s how we make a difference. We use the law to defend and extend people’s rights, working with communities to change broken systems as well as individual lives.
