The murder of Zachary Pace in Montrose CO

Hi my name is Michelle Pace...My son Zachary Pace was murdered in Montrose CO on July 31st 2019 at 22 years of age...The police are not doing anything to help solve this case!!!...Our family has had to do our own investigation...The police communicated very little from the beginning with the family and refused to use any extra help such as the FBI or the CBI as Montrose is a small town with little experience with murders...After not talking to us for 2 years, and little to no investigation, they closed Zachary's case...We are trying to get justice for our son and need to hire a private detective and an attorney so we can go over the Montrose Police Department's head to get the case reopened and investigated...We may have to also hire a forensics team and another coroner as little was done by our local coroner or sent to forensics...Please help if you can...I have taken as much as I can out of my retirement, and we are trying to do fundraisers, but unfortunately, it is not enough as these things are very expensive...I know everyone is broke right now but every little bit helps...Thank you and god bless you...(For more information on the case, read below)...

Our son was in a garage he rented that was made into a bedroom with 8 other people having a party...He had just ordered pizza for everyone and had just spoke to his dad who was on his way to pick him up minutes before the shot went off...Everyone there kept changing their stories from the beginning...The one's that would talk to us say everyone was just sitting around having a good time when the shot went off but they were looking at their phones so they did not see who shot him...We do have one person there that eventually told us what happened and who shot Zach but the police say he is not a good witness and dismissed him...We also got a recording from the sister of a girl that was there saying her sister told her this same individual also shot Zach...This was also given to the pd and they said it was hear say and did nothing with the evidence...From the beginning, the crime scene was treated as a suicide as the people in the room lied when calling 911 saying they had just got home and no one was in the room except Zach...They said they heard a gun shot and went inside and found Zach on the ground....They later changed their story after talking to police and admitted they lied and that there were 8 people in the room when it happened....The police and coroner knew this but still ruled his death as a suicide....Police should know not everyone that calls 911 is being truthful and every shooting scene should be treated as a murder scene unless proven later to not be the case...They treated the crime scene as a suicide and let everyone leave the scene....They got very little evidence and after 1 hour they let everyone back in the house to contaminate the scene and steal my son's belongings....They did no gun powder tests on my son or anyone there...The individual that we were told shot my son was seen by a witness running from the scene with blood on his clothes...The police did not have him come in for questioning until he got arrested for another crime 3 or 4 weeks later...He said he did not do it, they believed him, and he went home after bonding out for his other crime...We were told by the lead detective that everyone in the room had to come in voluntarily and whenever they wanted to as he could not make them come in even though he knew they all lied...The gun found at the scene had no fingerprints on it and we were told by the detective that this is nornal as fingerprints just fade normally...The police did not talk to neighbors or check trash cans for evidence...We found bloody clothes in a trash can a few days after Zach was murdered at a house down the street where witnesses say the shooter ran to after shooting Zach...The police came and wrote it off as red hair dye...This same witness says the shooter and another individual came to the house right after the shooting and the shooter had blood on himself...He was acting really nervous and was texting someone...Within minutes, a nice black suv with very tinted windows showed up and both individuals jumped in and left...This was before the police even had time to come on scene...The witness says she has always been very suspicious about this and told the police but they did nothing....This person feels like it was planned as the SUV came right away within minutes like they were waiting for the call...The even crazier thing is Zach's friend was killed 1 week prior to his death we believe by this same individual...There were other mysterious deaths in 2019 that also may have been done by this same person...We believe he may be a serial killer....We need to get Zach's case solved to bring these other cases to light...For more information go to #justiceforzach on Facebook...
