Justice for Twinkle Velani
Donation protected
My name is Meena Velani and I am starting this charity fund along with my husband, Salim Velani. The reason for this fund is to fight the case for the visitation rights to meet our grand-daughter, Sheza Sohil Maknojiya, and get justice through the courts for the death of our daughter, Twinkle Velani.
Twinkle was 19-years-old when we married her to Sohil Maknojiya. Their relationship was a bit troubled but they managed fine for the first two years of their marriage. They were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named, Sheza in may 2017.
Our daughter Twinkle, committed suicide and died on the Friday, September, 28th, 2018. She drank acetone on September 23rd and was hospitalized. She had three cardiac arrests until she was brain dead because of lack of supply of oxygen to the brain. She was on life-support for 48 hours until the plugs were pulled and she was pronounced dead.
Twinkle had an on-going conflict with her in-laws and was mentally abused and bullied into death. She was discriminated and treated as an "untouchable" during family gatherings. She was forced to live with her in-laws in Port Arthur, TX, and that is where she lost all the will to fight back because the husband had turned his head the other way. She was constantly threatened if she ever spoke out to her family or anyone else her daughter would be taken away from her. She continued fighting for her self-respect and dignity but lost the will to fight any longer and decided to take her own life. We as parents were refused to see her at the hospital and it was due to a nurse' help that we were finally able to see our daughter after 24 hours. We were also threatened at the hospital to leave town or in the words of Sohil's cousin "we will lay you out". We contacted our local church and asked for help from the people in our community and because of that we managed to spend time at the hospital with our daughter till she was dead. We have been threatened and discriminated ever since by Sohil and his family and friends, especially his cousins. We have been out of work and left with no money and scared for our own lives along with our grand-daughter's well-being.
Ever since the death of our daughter, we have been refused to see our grand-daughter and she is with our daughter's sister-in-law and we are afraid that our grand-daughter is being neglected in that house.
The reason for this charity is to come forward to the general public to gain support morally and financially to fight the battle for the custody of our grand-daughter. We have hired a criminal attorney to fight on our behalf and help us get either co-custody, or full custody for our grand-daughter. As these cases are not easy and cheap and we won't be able to go forward with empty hands. Therefore, we ask you all to kindly support and help us gain custody of our grand-daughter.
