Justice for Malik Carter: Exposing the Truth Behind the Cover-Up

Our family is heartbroken and devastated!!!! On February 11, 2026, we received the phone call that no family of an incarcerated loved one should ever have to receive; Malik Carter passed away alone in solitary confinement while in custody at USP Lee Federal Prison.

Malik was only 32 days from completing his sentence and reclaiming his life and beginning the future he had so carefully planned with the family that never stopped believing in him. Malik was more than a statistic; he was a son, a brother, and a father with a kind heart and a laugh that could light up a room. He was a man who deserved to walk out of those gates and back into our arms.

The Fight for Accountability

We believe Malik’s death was not an accident, it was a cover-up. Before his passing, Malik was being subjected to abuse and was in the process of filing a lawsuit to hold the facility accountable. At the time of his death, he was being held in solitary confinement, isolated from the world.

USP Lee Federal Prison is notorious for harsh treatment, torture, and illegal activity. We cannot and will not simply rely on an "official" report from the very system he was fighting against. To get justice, we must lead an investigation ourselves.

Here is where we need your help!! We are raising urgent funds for three critical needs:

-A Private Independent Autopsy: To ensure an unbiased medical investigation into the true cause of death. This is the only way to gather the evidence needed to press criminal charges.

-Body Preservation: Independent investigations take time. We must pay specialized fees to safely preserve Malik’s remains until the autopsy is complete so he can finally be laid to rest with dignity.

-The Campaign for Justice: Funding for rallies, awareness campaigns, media, radio stations and the legal advocacy required to ensure Malik’s story isn't swept under the rug by the state.

While funeral costs will be covered by insurance, no policy covers the cost of fighting a broken system. We cannot let Malik be silenced. Every dollar raised goes directly toward uncovering the truth and ensuring real accountability.
