On Tuesday, December 9th, Jorge—a beloved father, husband, brother, and compañero—was unjustly chased and detained by immigration agents while simply trying to find work at the Huntington Park Home Depot.
For the past three years, Jorge has worked tirelessly to support his family and pay down an overwhelming debt in Mexico. As a father of three and his family's primary breadwinner, Jorge's absence has left a profound void.
After being apprehended, Jorge was sent to Adelanto, where the inhumane detention conditions and the tumultuous legal system forced him into proceedings that would see him return to Mexico.
Jorge, who was unable to secure legal representation on time, appeared in court alone and was given a mandatory order of removal. This heartbreaking decision has left Jorge and his family fearful and uncertain of what the future could bring.
We urge our community and all who care about justice to stand with Jorge through donations and spreading the word. Please help Jorge, a hardworking jornalero, as he and his family face this unimaginable hardship.
