My name is Brittany Crolley, daughter to John Crolley. On Monday January 5, 2026 my 63yr old father was arriving to work when getting out of his vehicle he was brutally attacked. This attack was senseless and completely unprovoked!
They did not try to steal his keys or his wallet. Young men approached him claiming someone was being "mean to them down the road." My father did not have his guard up. He thought that he was going to be helping teenagers as it's not uncommon for them to be in the area as the high school bus stop arrives around the same time.
While my father looked in the direction they were pointing, the teens coordinated their attack. One of them tackled him to the ground. That's when they started kicking, stomping and punching relentlessly. He did not have a chance! My father recalls one attempted to strangle him. He tried to ask "why" -why are you doing this?! They didn't stop to give him a response. My father could not even yell while they were trying to choke and beat him.
Thankfully a Tulalip Police Officer was in the area patrolling because someone yelled "cops coming, cops coming" that's when the teens fled. Fortunately, there was a neighbor nearby who intervened with pepper spray that likely helped stop the attack and kept the attackers from getting away.
My father was hospitalized immediately after the incident. As a result of the cruel attack, my father now has a broken jaw, three broken ribs, significant bruising to his head, neck, and whole body. He may also suffer long term impaired hearing and eyesight from this gruesome attack. These are just the physical injuries he has endured, and some of the worse injuries are the ones that are unseen by the eyes and can last a lifetime. These injuries are impacting his daily life, his ability to work, and our family greatly.
Anyone who knows John Crolley will tell you he is the nicest man, a hard worker, and that he is willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. In fact, that morning he arrived to work for our community which would have included driving to Northwest Harvest to pick up food donations that are handed out at our local Red Church. He is deeply cared for and respected by our Tulalip Community.
We are glad he is now home and starting his long recovery process. All funding collected will go directly to my dad John who is facing long term impacts from this horrendous attack. The funding will be used for medical bills, living expenses, and potential impacts to income as he is the sole income provider for his household.
This funding will help allow my father and mother to focus on his healing and recovery from this traumatic event. Our family thanks all donors for any amount, small or big, and we deeply appreciate your support during this challenging time.
