I never thought I would be writing something like this.
Asking for help is not something I do easily, but after what has happened to my son Jax, I know that I cannot do this alone.
On 8/18/25 my 12-year-old son Jax, who is autistic, was violently assaulted in his school bathroom. He was beaten, left with a concussion, whiplash, bruising, and contusion/laceration to the back of his head.
What has been most heartbreaking is not just the physical injuries, but the emotional pain Jax is carrying. He’s been asking me why people can be so cruel, and why kindness feels so rare when he just wants love.
Since then, we’ve spent days in and out of hospitals, Dr and specialists. With Jax’s symptoms and extent of his concussion there may be a possibility of brain bruising, and he has been referred for a follow up with Neurology and further testing. His healing journey will be long, and his emotional scars even longer.
To make things even harder, the school has failed to uphold his IEP and provide the protections he was legally entitled to as a child with disabilities. We are now pursuing legal action to hold the school and those responsible accountable — not just for Jax, but so no other child with disabilities has to endure what he did.
Unfortunately, these legal, medical, and advocacy costs are more than I can manage on my own as much as I have tried.
Funds raised here will go directly toward:
Medical bills and ongoing treatment for Jax.
Legal fees to pursue justice and enforce disability rights laws.
Advocacy and protection to ensure Jax and children like him are safe in school.
Support for Jax’s healing and recovery.
If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing Jax’s story so that awareness can spread and change can happen.
Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than you know.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for standing with us, and thank you for standing with Jax.
With gratitude,
Jax’s Momma Bear
