Justice for Gold Dagal: A Stand Up Comedian Silenced

My only brother, a stand up comedian in the Philippines who was murdered before he hit the stage in Pampanga (March 15, 2025). Shot in the face and died after 9 hours in the hospital fighting for his life.

Prior to this, he has been getting death threats from a “religious” group he mentioned on one of his skits all because they could not take a joke.

I want to tell you that my brother was a great writer and if jokes offend you, it doesn’t give you the right to murder someone. What happened to my brother was gruesome. People from that group write nasty comments on social media celebrating his death.

I would send this money to my mourning mother and sisters and to seek justice swiftly. Private lawyers' in the Philippines that i've talked to said the total is $8,000 ALL IN. We are just waiting for the prosecutor's signature to start trial. Thank you to the Philippine National Police for the swift action in finding CCTV's and witnesses to locate the suspects. My brother’s death shall not be in vein. Keep freedom of expression and freedom of speech alive in the Philippines! I will miss you for the rest of my life kuya.
