On Sunday May 26th, 2024 Eric Worrell was brutally and senselessly murdered after walking into a bathroom unknowing that a killer was laying in wait, for the opportunity to harm whoever walked through the door. There was no provocation to the assault. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and was sadly faced with someone who had no regard for human life.
Fellow residents of the shelter where the attack took place have mentioned that the aggressor had talked openly about his desire to harm others. He was also able to get a knife inside of the facility despite metal detectors stationed at the front entrance.
Eric was an amazing person and friend, an altruist who cared deeply about others while expecting nothing in return ,someone who had a unparalleled passion for life and approached every experience with optimism and genuine care. The most important thing in life to Eric was his family- he is survived by his 3-year-old daughter Aurum who he shared with life partner Alyssa Rouzier. At the time he was attacked he was taking steps to better his life and provide for them, and I believe that this an opportunity for Eric’s community to come together and show support for his family the way that he always did for others. Please assist the family in uncovering the truth about Eric’s murder and seeking justice for his death.
