Eliud has been detained without cause for over 10 months. His habeas case was granted by a judge in Iowa and he is awaiting his bond hearing by a Trump-appointed judge in Nebraska. Eliud came to the USA with his family when he was just one year old. His family has been following the legal process and have two pending visas. Eliud graduated from Northfield High School and has a work permit. Despite all of this, on August 4, 2025, Eliud was taken by ICE and detained in Albert Lea. He was then moved to a facility in Iowa. Despite following the legal procedures, ICE is inaccurately claiming without evidence that Eliud missed an immigration court hearing and using this to keep him detained despite his habeas case being granted.
Eliud’s family, his parents and 3 younger sisters, have already spent tens of thousands following the legal process for their own immigration case and have spent tens of thousands more now on Eliud’s case. While detained, Eliud has been denied medical care, fed food with bugs and larvae in it, and never been allowed to set foot outside in the sun for over 10 months. He is losing hope.
Eliud’s bond hearing is happening in the next 1-2 weeks. Please help us raise money to get Eliud to the finish line and released on bond! Your support will bring hope and make a real difference during this urgent time.
