Justice for Eliseo Ramirez: Fight Wrongful Detention

Donation protected

Fundraising goal: $12,500

On Monday, December 29, Eliseo Ramirez, age 54, was detained by ICE agents at approximately 5:30 a.m. on E. Bunny Street in Santa Maria. At the time of his detention, Eliseo was working in the early morning hours serving hot drinks to local farmworkers as they waited for transportation to begin their workday.

Eliseo has lived in the United States for over 20 years, since 2002, and has spent that entire time working honestly and tirelessly to provide for his family. He began as a strawberry picker for local agricultural companies and, through years of dedication and sacrifice, eventually built a small business of his own. He has paid taxes, contributed to his community, and has never relied on government assistance. Eliseo has no criminal history and has maintained a clean driving record since obtaining his driver’s license in 2018.

He is a devoted father of three children, all of whom are contributing members of society in the United States. Eliseo is also eagerly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild, expected in early 2026. His greatest wish is simply to remain with his family and be present to watch his children and future grandchildren grow.

Eliseo is currently being held in ICE custody, and his family is facing significant and urgent legal expenses. Immigration attorney fees, government filing costs, and detention related expenses are extremely high, and the financial burden has quickly become overwhelming.

We are seeking to raise $12,500, which will be used exclusively for immigration attorney fees, government filing and court costs, detention related expenses, and to pursue legal relief and a work visa for Eliseo.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward his legal defense and efforts to reunite him with his family. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is also deeply appreciated. Thank you for standing with Eliseo and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Form I-130: $620
