JUSTICE FOR THE DRAGO CHILDREN
Donation protected
Lisa (Riguzzi) Contreras touched many lives in countless ways. Anyone who knew Lisa absolutely adored her. She was a bright light who dedicated her life to others and was always there for her three beautiful children, husband, family, and friends in their time of need. Now, we need to be there for her and her beloved children in this extremely difficult time.
Lisa fought a long, hard battle with cancer, showing incredible strength and the will to persevere. Throughout her illness, Lisa worked as a CFO for her company, in order to ensure financial security for her family. Many days, Lisa would come home from a long day of chemotherapy in NYC and go right to work, despite the sickness she encountered from the treatments. Lisa was determined to do whatever it took to set up a happy and successful life for her children.
Unfortunately, despite all of her hard work, her plans have been severely derailed.
Lisa’s dying wishes were not carried out and her children have not received their proper inheritance. We believe they have a right to receive a partial inheritance, as well as some tangible assets from their mother’s estate.
Lisa put trust in those she loved, and in the end, was too sick to deal with paperwork. Some vital steps were missed, and now the sole beneficiary of the large inheritance from Lisa’s employment benefits has chosen NOT to divide the sum with Lisa’s children, despite her dying wishes.
There is a dispute regarding the substantial remaining asset distribution. Although Lisa’s wishes were clear, litigation is now the only way to move forward. We were hoping to settle certain estate matters out of court, but we were unable to do so. This legal process can be long and expensive. Any money that the children currently have is needed for college tuition, rent, heath care, gas, insurance, utilities, and everyday living expenses. We are creating this campaign to raise funds for legal fees that will be incurred throughout litigation.
It takes a village to raise a child. We are asking Lisa’s village to support this campaign to help carry out her wishes and dreams for her family. We know in our hearts how proud Lisa would be of her three precious children, Dylan, Lindsey, and Taylor.
Lisa’s son, Dylan, lives on his own and works full-time at a job he loves. Lindsey is living on her own and entering her junior year of Nursing School at UCF. Her youngest, Taylor, is living with her father, getting ready for her senior year and then off to college!
The last three years have not been easy for Lisa’s children, and they have had more emotional and financial setbacks than anyone should have to deal with. Dylan, Lindsey, and Taylor desperately need our help as they embark on a long, legal journey to fight for financial stability and justice, but most of all, to honor their mother’s wishes.
The years as young adults and adolescents can be extremely difficult without a mother. The Drago children are entitled to their rightful inheritance which will help them navigate early adulthood and perhaps be a blessing and a reminder to Dylan, Lindsey, and Taylor of how much their mother was loved and how much she loved them.
We appreciate any size donation – no amount is too small! Thank you.
Please note any unused funds for legal fees will be equally divided among the children.
