This GoFundMe is to help cover the expenses of the litigation that have nearly doubled in cost now that the case is going to trial. To date, the case has incurred nearly $40,000.00 in expenses and trial has not yet begun. This fund will not go towards attorney's fees in this case. The biggest costs are for expert witnesses who are required to testify in person in Washington, D.C. to establish police misconduct and conscious pain and suffering of the deceased, Deon Kay. These witnesses are necessary to establish certain evidence that Deon needs to prevail at trial. It has been a long road for Deon's family.
