With a heavy heart, we are raising urgent support for the family of our beloved friend, Bullet Bairagi, whose life was tragically and brutally taken in Cumilla, Bangladesh, on 25 April 2026.
Bullet was more than a Customs official—he was a loving husband, a devoted father, the only son of his parents, and a kind-hearted friend who touched many lives. He was my immediate junior batch friend from university, and like many others, I am still struggling to accept that he is no longer with us.
Bullet served as an Assistant Revenue Officer at the Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate at Bibir Bazar Land Port in Cumilla. He had recently returned from Chattogram after attending a training programme. On the night of 24 April, while returning home, he last spoke to his family around 2:25 AM, saying he had reached the Tomchom Bridge area of Cumilla. Sadly, he never made it home. His phone was later switched off, and by the next morning, his blood-stained body was found beside the Dhaka–Chattogram highway near Kotbari.
According to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Bullet was targeted by an organised mugging gang who disguised themselves as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver and passengers. They waited near Jagarjhuli, looking for a lone traveller. After luring him into their vehicle, they assaulted him, robbed him, and threw him from the moving auto-rickshaw, causing fatal injuries. Five suspects were arrested, and four later gave confessional statements in court.
This was not just a robbery. It was a cruel act of violence that destroyed an innocent family.
Bullet leaves behind his grieving wife and their innocent 1-year-old child, who must now face life without their husband and father. Coming from a financially struggling family background, his family is now dealing with unimaginable emotional pain, legal battles, and serious financial hardship.
His wife’s heartbreaking words in the news — “I just want to know what happened to my husband” — reflect the pain and unanswered questions this family continues to carry.
We are raising AUD $25,000 to help support:
• Legal expenses to pursue justice and continue the murder case
• Immediate financial support for his wife and child
• Daily living expenses and family stability during this difficult time
• Long-term support for the future care and education of his child
Funds will be received by me or directly by Bullet’s wife and will be used only for legal proceedings and direct family support.
Every donation—big or small—will make a real difference. If you are unable to donate, please help by sharing this fundraiser so we can reach more compassionate people.
We are not only asking for financial help—we are asking for justice, dignity, and a future for the wife and child Bullet left behind.
Please keep Bullet and his family in your prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and solidarity.
